We all know how devastating a fire can be and this was certainly the situation for Carol and her three children when they lost their home in a fire accident a few months ago. The fire not only forced them to move into a one bedroom apartment but also destroyed all their belongings. This left them with little money to purchase any school supplies or clothing. Carol turned to Harbor Christian Center, one of our network churches, for help and they referred her to us.
When Carol called us she shared her story about the fire and we immediately filled out an intake form to verify her needs. During the conversation we learned that Carol not only needed backpacks, school supplies and clothing for her children, but she also needed a refrigerator, kitchen utensils and a bed. We gave Carol backpacks from our Back-To-School Drive and contacted King’s Way Church, another Love INC network church. They provided Carol and her family with furniture and other family needs.
