Hi Ceciia

I just wanted to share with you the hope these backpacks gave to my client Alicia today. She is a client who is going through eviction and has just delivered a new baby three short weeks ago. She had a very tough pregnancy and was in and out of the emergency room eight times and was hospitalized three of those times because she was at high risk for preterm labor. DCFC got involved because her landlord, who refused to repair her moldy bathroom pipes, reported her.

Alicia has five children and three of the oldest are school age. When we did our home visit we brought them lots of school clothes and they were so excited. They said that all they needed now were their backpacks. When we left we were very emotional having seen the tears in Alicia's eyes. We were feeling sad and worried for these children. We knew that not having backpacks were the least of their problems.

To my surprise the next day we received 200 Love INC Backpacks filled with school supplies. This was truly going to be a blessing for our client Alicia (and her children) who was at that moment on her way to court fighting to get custody of her children.

When we delivered the backpacks Alicia gave out a cry of joy and said that there was an angel looking out for her and her children!

Thank-you so very much,

Amanda (from DCFS)
